Combining the best property and marketing specialists in Yorkshire at Blenkin & Co, with Jennifer’s local lettings expertise, we offer our clients a service like no other, for properties throughout York, North Yorkshire, and East Riding.

Our office is positioned in a prominent position, just outside of York’s city walls. Bootham is the beating heart of York, a busy Georgian thoroughfare close to York Minster and the railway station, and home to the city’s top independent schools. Our use of new technologies enables us to cover a broad area with reliability, providing a comprehensive service to our landlords and tenants.

With over a decade of experience within short- and long-term lettings across York, Ryedale and beyond, Jennifer heads up our lettings department. Jennifer divides her time between our York office and her Mobile Command Centre making herself reassuringly available to landlords outside normal office hours. Jennifer is also the ARLA Regional Executive for Yorkshire, playing a vital role in representing property agents across the region, providing guidance on industry standards, regulations, and best practices and promoting professional development within the industry.

A graduate of Newcastle University, Edward comes from a farming family with deep connections across the Yorkshire Wolds, North York Moors and Heritage Coast. Drawing upon his longstanding knowledge of North Yorkshire’s people, places and period properties, he established Blenkin & Co’s lettings business with co-founder Jennifer Marsden after becoming frustrated by the lack of specialist provision for high-end lettings in the region. Mirroring the firm’s established sales business, the lettings service offers landlords and tenants a personal, knowledgeable and grown-up approach, combining attentive management with an understanding that exceptional properties require rather more than a standard letting-agency service. Edward lives with his wife, young daughter and Golden Labrador, Finch, in a village just outside the market town of Malton.

Having built her career in Residential Lettings and Property Management, Jess works closely with landlords to navigate the complexities of property management and an ever-evolving regulatory landscape. Jess oversees all aspects of property maintenance, safety certification, tenancy compliance and client accounting, ensuring that managed properties are maintained to the highest standards and remain fully compliant with current legislation.

A long term York resident, Sarah brings with her considerable authority and experience when it comes to conducting viewings in the city, country and coast. A writer and columnist, she is the daughter of North Yorkshire bobby and author Peter Walker who, under the pseudonym Nicholas Rhea, wrote the successful Constable series of books which inspired the TV series Heartbeat. Sarah followed in her father’s footsteps when she took over the column after his death in 2017. Now known as The Countryman’s Daughter, Sarah’s column appears weekly in the Darlington & Stockton Times and the Ryedale Gazette and Herald.

Having now lived in North Yorkshire for more than thirty years, Leni is proud to call this adopted county her home. She employs her many skills with the Rowntree Players in York and is currently renovating her family home, a former rectory on the edge of the North York Moors. Leni helps us to marry people, Yorkshire and property, and assures us that there is never a dull day at work.
